My husband gave me Rodeo (pronounced like Rodeo Drive in CA) with a big gold bow around his neck the same night be proposed to me. So he would have always been a very special part of our lives, but I don't think my husband knew just how special Rodeo would end up being to both of us. I had never had a dog before, so he wasn't sure how it would go over, he thought Rodeo may end up being more of his dog than mine. But, turns out the exact opposite happened! I was obsessed with Rodeo and he was obsessed with me.
Sure, he was not the most well behaved puppy and still had some hilarious naughty moments as an older dog, but he was by far the most charming, the most charismatic, the prettiest and the most photogenic Golden you'd ever meet - and he knew it. He tended to get his way more often than anyone else and get more attention than anyone else in our house!
Rodeo became sick very quickly and we knew there was not a lot of time before he would leave us so I am so grateful I found Sarah Beth when I did. She came to our home to do his Joy Session just 3 days before his final day...which made these pictures even more special as we had this one thing to look forward to seeing even though he had left us. The day of the session we didn't dwell on the fact that he didn't feel well and Sarah Beth definitely captured just how photogenic Rodeo was.
We will be forever grateful to look at the beautiful pictures of Rodeo and feel like a piece of him is still with us.
