I resuced Smokie when he was a kitten and it was Love at first site for us both. The lady at the shelter brought him in the room for us to meet and he climbed on my leg, curled up and purred so LOUD that I could see him vibrating. He just looked at me and I knew he was mine. From that day on he would always want me to hold him like a baby in my arms, give me kisses ont he cheek and hug me. We believe he actually thought he was my baby. When I met my husband he just tolerated him but it was obvious to anyone that he was mine, and I was his. The other cats we own even knew that Smokie would get first dibs to anything from me, and they were to back off, because I was his human first.
So, when we found out he was terminally with bladder cancer, I knew I had to find someone to capture how goregous of a cat he was and I would have plenty of pictures to remmeber him and show him to others. When I first saw Sarah's site and her Joy Sessions I knew she was going to be the perfect person to help me fullfill this wish.
Exactly one week after she visited us to take pictures we had to send Smokie off to Heaven. I think when I first saw the pictures she sent me after, I cried at every one of them; not just because I missed him, but how goregous they were, and how beautifully she captured him. She gave me a part of him back that day and I will never forget that.
Here are a couple of my favorites she took that day.
