We rescued Trini 3 years ago, on May 22, 2013. We just celebrated her 18 Birthday and her 3rd Gotcha Day with us.
We adopted Trini from Tierra de Animales, an animal sanctuary outside of Cancun, Mexico. They rescued her after she had been hit by a car (bone exposed) and her owners threw her out on the street. By the time she was rescued her injury was 3-5 days old. Sadly, due to infection, she had to have her leg amputated at the age of 15.
Trini is such a courageous little girl, her feisty little personality makes everyone that meets her smile. She has been to local schools in Mexico to help educate kids on proper pet ownership and how not to discard animals because they have gotten hurt or injured. She even has a FB page that helps other senior or disabled animals find forever homes.
Everyone says Trini is so lucky to have us, but really, we are the lucky ones! She makes us smile every day. She truly is a great dog that has overcome so much pain and suffering.
Dogs truly can teach us to live life to the fullest and don't dwell on the past <3
