One of the special ways we can hold onto the memories of our pets, is to create a tribute video. It's a great way to compile all your favorite photos, incorporate short videos (if you have them), and share their life stories.
If you have printed photos you'd like to use, you'll first need to scan them to create digital copies. You can do this at home with a scanner, or there are companies that will do this for you. Do an internet search for "photo scan YOUR TOWN" and see what options are available to you, both locally and – if you're comfortable mailing them in – nationally. It could cost anywhere from 40¢ to a few dollars per image, so if you have a lot of photos to scan, it might make more sense to purchase your own scanner. You should be able to find a good one for under $100.
Once you have your digital media ready to go, you'll need a way to compile them into a video. If you have a Mac computer, iMovie comes standard, and is a great, user-friendly way to put your videos together. There are also free online resources for compiling a video. A quick search brought up these options (which I've not used, and can't speak to their functionality) kizoa.com, slide.ly, evver.com, and even youtube.com lets you create a photo slideshow right on their website. *Be sure to read the fine print about how companies may use your photos and videos once you've uploaded them.
A past client of mine recently created a wonderful tribute video of her dog, Rugby, and has allowed me to share it here. She did a great job of incorporating images throughout Rugby's entire life, including some from our Joy Session®. Check it out below, and perhaps you'll be inspired to create your own tribute video of your pets!
