Heritage Sessions are the most emotional sessions I offer, but they are also the most important to me. Pets are family, and hearing a serious diagnosis regarding a family member is always heart-wrenching, but a photography session gives everyone a chance to just be in the moment and savour the memories.
Bart was 15.5 years of age and battling cancer. Bart's mom came to me because she wanted some last images of her black beauty and to remember his kind, gentle nature. She was understandably concerned because, (1) Bart was black and she had never been able to successfully photograph him; (2) he was a cat and needed to be photographed inside which she felt made it more challenging; and, (3) he was receiving treatment for a tumour that had grown quite prominent on his face. I assured her that we would do our very best to create images that would remind her of the good times with her boy.
I'm so happy to say that we were able to do that and more. For more details on this gorgeous boy's session, please see: http://poshpetsblog.com/2015/10/bart-heritage-session-cat-photographer-in-toronto/
